About The Author
The Accidental Architect of Mythra
Steven Riddles never intended to write a fantasy epic. He wasn't a lifelong fantasy devotee who played D&D or spent his youth memorizing maps of imaginary lands. He'd seen the big movies, but his journey into world-building began with something much closer to home: a simple, heartfelt idea to write a children's book with his daughter and her dog.
That first story led to another, this time with his son. And then, something unexpected happened. The world of Mythra simply... exploded.
What started as a family project quickly spiraled into a deep, creative rabbit hole. Suddenly, he wasn't just writing a story; he was forging the very soul of a new world. He found himself crafting elite military units like the Hammerdeep Vanguard, complete with their own traditions, songs, and solemn funeral rites. The lore deepened, the history expanded, and the small stories grew into an epic saga. That rabbit hole is now home to The Mythra Chronicles, a series that currently spans two books with ideas for a dozen more waiting to be explored.
When he’s not lost in the ever-expanding world of Mythra, Steven lives in Texas. His real-life adventures—traveling, camping, and off-roading in his Jeep with his family and pets—serve as a grounding force for his fantastical tales. He believes in the power of storytelling to connect people and hopes his accidental epic inspires readers to see the magic that can spring from the simplest acts of love and imagination.
